Just a few words about The Well, God's vision, inspiration and mission for Immanuel and the community of Glen Rock. What started as a “what if” has become a reality and blessing.
We were blessed to be able to open the doors in May to the families displaced by the roof collapse at the apartment building on School St. and provide for them, some from 1-2 days and nights, others for a week. Immanuel's volunteers, led by John Saiko, were present the entire time, listening to their concerns and issues, providing assistance as able and needed, and feeding our guests 3 meals every day under the direction of 'Chef' John. The Well received food donations from the Glen Rock Mill Inn, Papa John's, Grace Fellowship, Immanuel's members and other community persons. People brought food, clothing, and monetary donations to help the Well provide for these guests. Pets were provided for with donations of bedding, crates and food. The Red Cross and other county and local resources provided assistance also.
The Well has been and continues to be a safe sanctuary place where the kids of Glen Rock can come to participate in activities, receive wholesome snacks, and just “hang out”. If the volunteer pool increases we will be able to be open additional days and or times. Fun Fridays will be held there during July with Bible stories, crafts, games and lunch.
None of this would have been possible without God's inspiration and direction. He is leading Immanuel to do even more outreach mission in our community. Won't you be part of this mission?
